In honor of the opening of Phase 2 of the Chicago Riverwalk, Friends of the Chicago River and the City of Chicago are partnering to present Understanding the New Chicago River, a nine week lunchtime lecture series. The lectures will take place on the riverwalk in front of Friends' McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum.
It's free! It's outdoors! Join us each Monday from June 1 to July 27 to learn more about river issues, stroll the newly expanded riverwalk, and visit Friends' unique museum. Speakers from the Shedd Aquarium, Chicago Department of Transportation, Department of Water Management, Chicago Park District, and Friends will cover topics on wildlife habitat, invasive species, Chicago's bridges, and the economy of the river.
Open to the public. Mondays 12:15-12:45pm in front of the Bridgehouse Museum at 376 N. Michigan Avenue. In the event of rain, the lectures will be rescheduled. Please check our Facebook and Twitter pages for up-to-the-minute updates.
