Accessibility

The landmark Bridgehouse is wheelchair accessible on the first floor and gear room. Computer stations with comparable exhibits are available for visitors who are unable to climb the staircase.

The McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum is located in a historic five story bridge tower, reminiscent of a lighthouse. Because climbing the stairs may be difficult for visitors with limited mobility and to accommodate visitors with disabilities, the Bridgehouse has a comparable exhibit experience on the first floor. The gear room, which houses the gears that operate the bridge, is accessible from the first floor.

It is also important to note that the ramp from Wacker Drive to the riverwalk is quite steep. For further information regarding accessibility, please call us at (312) 977-0227.
