Don’t let Asian carp take a bite out of the Chicago River or the Great Lakes- bite back! Now in its third year, Friends of the Chicago River is putting this notorious species where it belongs- on your plate. The Asian Carp Grill takes place on August 23, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., on the plaza of the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum, located on Chicago’s bustling Riverwalk. This summer evening features Margaret Frisbie, executive director, and John Quail, director of watershed planning, from Friends of the Chicago River, as well as a tasting of Asian carp, grilled by Dirk from Dirk’s Fish & Gourmet Shop. Join us to also celebrate the release of the Brandon Road study.
Tickets to this BYOB event are priced at $15 apiece, or two-for-$25, which includes after-hours admission to the museum. We also have a raffle for over $700 worth of prizes from Chicago Electric Boat Company, Metropolis Coffee, and Lou Malnati’s. Tickets are only $5 each or 3 for $10 to be purchased at the event.
