Chicago’s River Edge Ideas Lab is an initiative of the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development in collaboration with the Metropolitan Planning Council, with generous funding from Comcast, The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, Related Midwest and The 601W Companies. Nine leading architectural firms with experience in developing innovative riverfronts, parks, and public spaces, were engaged to provide their visions for a unified aesthetic along Chicago’s riverfront.
Participating architecture firms include Adjaye Associates, James Corner Field Operations,
Perkins+Will, Ross Barney Architects, SOM, SWA, Sasaki, site, and Studio Gang. The design
concepts will be shared with the public in a one-of-a-kind exhibition that will run in
conjunction with this year’s Chicago Architecture Biennial, September 16, 2017 – January 7, 2018. A traveling exhibit will also be displayed at locations throughout the city.
The Bridgehouse Museum will be the first stop on the traveling exhibit tour running through October 2, 2017.
